What is the Discretionary Fund?

The (Youth and Children's Officers') Discretionary Fund gives grants to support initiatives by and with children and young people*.

How much money can be applied for?
The minimum grant is for £25 and the maximum is for £125

How often are grant applications considered?
Grant applications are considered 3 times a year. In 2008 application deadlines are:

  • 30 April 2008
  • 30 September 2008

What kinds of projects have being supported in the past?
Successful grant applications have included:

  • T-shirts for a Gospel Choir
  • Holiday Clubs
  • An Easter Outreach programme
  • Overseas mission trips
  • DVDs for a hospital ward

    Do you accept repeat applications (for the same project)?
    Each application is assessed on its own merits however generally applications should be for new projects.
