| Do it for Me - Jesus said |

“I was a stranger
and you invited me in”
|
We may consider the countless millions who live in the wider world to be strangers but our lives are linked through the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the music we listen to, even the air we breathe. Today, more than ever before, the wider world is part of our daily lives as the choices we make here affect the lives of others making them no longer strangers. The 21st-Century reality is that we are all members of a global community with responsibilities towards each other. Children have a natural interest and curiosity in the wider world as well as their local situation and need to be offered the opportunity to develop critical thinking about complex global issues in the safety of the classroom. It is vital children are supported to understand the power they have as individuals to make choices or take action for the present and the future. |
