Do it for Me - Jesus said
“I was naked
and you clothed me”

“Whole villages have been wiped out, many roads are completely blocked, buildings have been destroyed”

In February 2008 a powerful tropical cyclone struck Madagascar Severe flooding and high winds in Toamasina left the entire city without electricity or drinkable water. In all, over 330,000 people were left homeless, and the storm caused 93 deaths. Many people were left with literally noting but what they were wearing.

Many of the church schools and buildings were destroyed or damaged. Some parishes in Canterbury have already responded but this year's portion of this appeal for Madagascar will also go towards helping re-build communities and re-clothe some of the poorest people in our world.

Sixteen-year-old Soso Ranzafintratiba uses a piece of bamboo as a crutch. Her knee is badly injured. "I was returning from school when the cyclone came," she says. "I tried to run because I was afraid, but I fell and hurt my leg. When I got home, the wind was so strong that the house collapsed. I was trapped there all night."
