- GROWING WITH GOD - A HOLY PEOPLE
a) Offering, sharing and drawing in experience and support for Church Schools in religious
education, collective worship and spiritual development
b) Developing and growing the Church's contribution to the quality of worship in schools,
encouraging the involvement of the wider community and working ecumenically
c) Supporting clergy, ministry leadership teams and laity in their ministry in educational
institutions, from early years to higher education
- GROWING AS DISCIPLES - A LEARNING PEOPLE
a) Assistance with the appointment and leadership training of headteachers and deputy
headteachers and staff of Church schools.
b) Encouraging a Christian vocation to teaching and the identification and nurturing of
leadership potential in teachers and the wider workforce.
c) Diocesan governor training for Church schools and involvement in KCC governor training for all schools.
d) Encouragement and support for chaplaincy in educational institutions.
- GROWING IN THE WORLD
- A MISSIONARY AND EVANGELISTIC PEOPLE
a) Challenging and communicating with deaneries, the diocese, KCC and the Church of England nationally to promote and develop opportunities for Church involvement in Every Child Matters.
b) Encouraging and equipping Church schools to be distinctive and inclusive.
c) Seeking to create new (including secondary) Church schools with community facilities and transformation of existing schools in areas of growth and/or areas of deprivation.
d) Exploring and encouraging fresh expressions of church through educational institutions of all
categories and the wider community.
- TRAVELLING LIGHT
a) Effective development and oversight of the programme of Church school building, maintenance and improvement work, and income generation, carried out by Diocesan Architectural Services on behalf of the Board in partnership with other professional practices.
b) Sharing good practice and collaborative work with other dioceses/denominations/faiths and
with other Boards of the diocese.
c) Effective partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University and other HE institutions.
