MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

    THE REVEREND NIGEL GENDERS
    - DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
  • Responsible for overall policy implementation
  • Special responsibility for liaison with KCC Education through statutory committee structure
  • Contributing to the work of Kent Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE)
  • Responsibility for our training programme for school governors, clergy and laity working with schools
  • Shared responsibility (with Virginia Corbyn) for headship appointments and OFSTED/Section 24 inspection feedbacks.
  • Lead officer for Post 16 Education and the development of school and FE chaplaincy

    MRS VIRGINIA CORBYN
    ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION (School Improvement)
  • Advising Church schools on collective worship policy and practice
  • Advising Church schools on RE policy and practice
  • Delivering and co-ordinating INSET in RE and collective worship
  • Supporting schools in preparing for and responding to Section 48 (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools) inspection
  • Co-ordinating the work of Section 48 inspectors in the Diocese
  • Overseeing the Diocesan RE Resources Centre
  • Disseminating information to schools relating to good practice, resources and training opportunities in RE and collective worship
  • Sharing responsibility for the appointment of Headteachers of Church schools with Nigel Genders
  • Contributing to the work of Kent SACRE, particularly in relation to the Kent Agreed Syllabus for RE

  • Currently serving on several LEA committees, Kent Wide Admission ForumDFG Group and Schools Capital Group
